KN Board-Redefining Marble: Thin, Strong, Beyond Expectations

Experience strength and elegance with our ultra-thin natural marble solutions for modern spaces.

Marble Innovation- KN board

Structure Analysis:

Note: Reinforcement layer + mortar layer is approximately 2mm, which the common size is 4.5mm surface layer + 2mm Reinforment and mortar layer.

Marble Innovation- KN board

  • Ultra-thin Design: Thickness of only 2-3mm for ceilings and furniture, and 4-5mm for walls and floors (excluding the reinforcing mortar layer), significantly saving space and improving usage efficiency.

  • Lightweight and Strong: Weighs only 9-15kg per square meter, yet offers 10 times the impact resistance.

  • Waterproof and Durable: Superior waterproof performance with over 50 years of aging resistance, ensuring reliable quality.

  • Eco-friendly and Cost-saving: Material costs reduced by 20%-50%, free from harmful substances and dust, and compliant with environmental standards.

  • Easy Installation: Convenient to install, suitable for various applications, reducing labor costs.(learn more about our new installation technique on the top side)

The KN board addresses three major challenges in the stone industry

1 Solving the yellowing issue:

Natural stones often contain iron elements that easily oxidize and cause yellowing in humid environments, especially on light-colored marble. The KN board's mortar layer effectively blocks the upward pressure of moisture from the substrate, preventing the oxidation of iron elements and the subsequent yellowing.

2 Solving the efflorescence issue:
Currently, installing natural marble requires a significant amount of cement. The alkaline substances in the cement seep through the pores and cracks in the stone, leading to surface efflorescence defects. The mortar layer of the KN board has waterproof properties, effectively blocking the alkaline substances from the substrate and preventing efflorescence defects on the stone surface.

3 Solving the cracking issue:
Traditional marble is a brittle material prone to breakage, typically relying on a thickness of around 20mm for rigidity. This excessive thickness makes leveling during installation very challenging and often leads to hollow spots in the mortar layer due to uneven stress, resulting in stone cracking. The KN board utilizes a composite technology of reinforcement and mortar layers, combined with an innovative thin-laying technique for marble installation. This enhances the crack resistance of the board by over 10 times, allowing it to withstand the weight of a 50-ton truck(video demonstration).
